Floor plan
A drawing of a building cut horizontally and viewed from above.
A floor plan is a horizontal section, conventionally taken about a metre above the floor, showing walls, openings, and circulation from above.
As a rendering input it is information-dense but ambiguous: it fixes the layout precisely while saying nothing about ceiling height, material, or light. Anything generated from a plan alone involves the renderer — human or model — supplying the third dimension.
