Massing model
A simplified volume study with no material or detail.
A massing model represents a building as plain volumes — height, footprint, and the relationship to neighbouring buildings — with windows, materials, and detail deliberately omitted.
It is the earliest stage at which a rendering is useful, and a demanding input: almost everything visible in the final image has to be inferred, so the output should be read as one plausible resolution of the massing rather than a proposal.
