Inpainting
Regenerating a selected region of an image while leaving the rest untouched.
Inpainting edits part of an image: the user marks an area, describes or selects what should be there, and only that region is regenerated.
It is what makes AI images correctable rather than disposable. Instead of rerolling a whole render because one element is wrong, the surrounding image — which was already approved — is preserved.
